Dr Sheelagh James

Dr Sheelagh James has been with Auckland Family Medical Centre since its inception and has worked in general practice for over 30 years. Sheelagh has postgraduate qualifications in obstetrics and is a fellow of the Royal NZ College of GPs. Having trained in rural practice in Scotland, Sheelagh believes strongly that general practice should be a one stop shop for all patients dealing with any aspect of healthcare.

Dr John McCartie

Dr John McCartie has been at our practice since 1998. He is a fellow of the Royal NZ College of GPs, offers over 25 years experience as a GP and has gained international experience working in London and Sydney general practices.
Dr McCartie has a special interest in skin cancer diagnosis and treatment – he holds a postgraduate diploma in general dermatology from the UK and is one of a small number of doctors in Australia and New Zealand with a postgraduate Diploma in Dermoscopy (the most accurate way to diagnose skin cancers), awarded with Distinction. Additionally he has postgraduate training in non-surgical and surgical treatments for skin cancer. As well as holding a Diploma in Child Health and two years paediatric training, he also has considerable experience in adult and older people’s medicine.

Dr Phillipa Murray

GP Partner
​Dr Phillipa Murray graduated from Otago University in 1991 and worked in several hospitals around NZ, before specializing in General Practice and gaining her Fellowship in General Practice in 2000. She has worked at AFMC since 2002 and holds postgraduate qualifications in pediatrics (children’s health), family planning (women’s health), minor surgery, and skin cancer medicine. Phillipa regularly attends updates in management of all General Practice topics to stay as up to date on new treatments as possible. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice medicine, and is passionate about the wonderful doctor/patient relationships that are built in General Practice.​

Dr Mirjana Janjic

​Dr Janjic graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Sarajevo, former Yugoslavia in 1989. Upon arrival in New Zealand in 1993, she worked at Tauranga Hospital for two years before becoming a GP principal in her own practice in Papamoa for a decade. She earned fellowship of RNZCGP in 2002. Over the last 16 years, Mirjana has worked as a GP, fellow of RACGP in Melbourne, Australia.

Mirjana has extensive experience in all aspects of general practice with a keen interest in preventative healthcare and women's health. Her time in Australia saw her develop an interest in primary care dermatology and laser medicine. She has gained board certification with the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and a fellowship with the College of Cosmetic Physicians of Australasia. Recently, Mirjana and her husband relocated to New Zealand in 2022 to reunite with family.​​

Dr Glenn Neo

​
Dr Neo graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2007. After two years of hospital experience, he worked for 5 years as a family doctor in a large medical centre that provided primary care and other community health services. Glenn moved to Wellington in 2013 and worked as a GP in the Hutt Valley for 10 years before recently moving to Auckland. As well as comprehensive knowledge and skills in general practice he has a particular interest in Sports and Musculoskeletal Medicine.

Dr Victor Ji
GP Associate
Dr. Ji was born in Mainland China and grew up in North Shore, Auckland. He completed his medical training in Otago and gained extensive experience working in hospitals, including roles as a general surgery registrar and rural hospital medicine registrar.
He has a keen interest in subspecializing in minor procedures and continues to do locum work in public hospitals, particularly in emergency medicine. In his free time, Dr. Ji enjoys going to the gym, swimming, playing tennis, and playing the piano.
